Of Hope, Courage and Faith, I write thus:
I seem to see them in threes these days, and why not, after all three is divine, remember the trinity?
Which of these; hope, courage and faith comes first? A tough question to ask, which draws the other, a puzzle, can one survive without the others, a mystery!
Hope is anticipation, a wish, a desire, a yearning, a longing for a thing. Faith on the other hand is likened to reliance, assurance, conviction, believe and trust.
Faith is like when you take the first step when climbing the stairs in the dark despite the fact that you can’t see the whole staircase or the landing, but you believe it is there.
Of hope and faith, you need courage! It is often said we walk by faith not by sight, this is easier said than done. Without courage and determination we soon abandon hope and faith, for it is said when hope lingers, the heart is discouraged.
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best thing, and no good thing ever dies when you have faith and are encouraged!
Remember David encouraged himself in the LORD! (Not in anyone)
